Many companies have found that, over the years following a registration to ISO 9000,
the internal audits that are a requirement of that standard become less productive.Their
approach, often focused upon a single area or procedure, show that compliance is of a high
order but opportunities for improvement are not being identified.

This course aims to move the audit activity into a higher gear.It gives established auditors
a wider view of business processes, supplementing their existing skills with increased
analytical techniques and a greater knowledge of the ISO 9000 standard.

In this way the auditor can move beyond simple compliance and become an integral part of
the improvement process.

This course will be of use to all those involved in business improvement.Experience of
internal audits would be an advantage, but not essential.

Course Structure

The course contains four major headings
• Analysis of Business Processes, mapping suitable sections of a business for
subsequent investigation
• Increased focus on the ISO 9000 standard,,especially on its use as a model to
determine shortcomings (actual or potential)in existing processes
• The importance of working in small teams for maximum effectiveness
• Reporting results of such audits,,since convincing others is an important part
of any improvement process
•Throughout the two days the lessons learned are reinforced through an ongoing case
study,based upon a real situation.

CPD Time: This course is equivalent to 16 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) time.
