This course examines both repeatability and reproducability (R+R) and evaluating the measure- ment (EMP) studies in order to investigate the measurement process and meet the requirements of QS9000. This course also seeks improvements in the measuring processes and improvements in process capability. .

Course Structure

Identify and calculate the components of measurement errors
Define and calculate bias, linearity, stability and repeatability
Understand discrimination (resolution) and its effects on the control chart
Perform a full R+R study using the mean and range method
Perform an EMP study by both long and short methods
Identify the differences between the R+R and EMP studies
Perform an attribute gauge study
Perform a linearity study
Understand the differences between the R+R and EMP methods
Perform a linearity study.
Case Studies are used throughout to illustrate the methods.
